Cartridge housings type “D” and “D-G”

Cartridge housings type “D” and “D-G” from Putsch® are manufactured individually to meet the requirements and special requests of customers. Where standard cartridge housings cannot meet the requirements despite numerous features and comprehensive accessories, cartridge housings type “D” and “D-G” are the solution. Individual production makes special requests such as large pipe diameters (DN 150 and DN 200 of type “D”), special rubber coatings on the inner steel surface (type “D-G”) or special materials for chemical resistance possible.

Due to the individual production, Putsch® is very flexible and designs individual cartridge housings for customers, adapted to e.g. installation conditions such as piping, operating height or space requirements. The robust, heavy and large filter housings type “D” and “D-G” are especially designed for long term operation and are also used under extreme ambient conditions, e.g. in desert zones or in coastal regions with salt water.

Description

General information/manufacturer Putsch®

A stainless steel cylinder forms the basic element of the cartridge housings type “D”, which is divided into two chambers by a precisely welded-in stainless steel plate. The metal plate is equipped with the seatings for all common adapters P0 (DOE) for filter cartridges. The liquid enters through the lateral connection on the cylinder of the cartridge housing. The liquid exits through a pipe elbow at the dished end. Height and direction of intake and outlet can be freely selected by the customer, taking into account the vessel structure.

Depending on the flow rate of the liquid or the required filter surface, different cartridge housings with a variable number of filter cartridges are available with different lengths (up to 60″).

The inner surface is pickled and the outer surface is protected against corrosion by a coat of paint.

General information/manufacturer Putsch®

There are various ways of lifting the heavy, solid blind flange for opening the cartridge housings. On customer request, crane lugs can be welded onto the housing cover.

Another solution is to attach a handwheel which the operator can use to lift the cover and and move it aside using the swivel art. If there is no space at the side for swiveling, the housing cover can be equipped with a balance hinge so it can be opened upwards with little effort.

Feet/installation/mounting

Solid feet are welded into the dished end for secure installation. Putsch® defines the positioning of the feet during planning of the individual structure, taking into account the piping and the structural stability in coordination with the customer. On request, support brackets can be attached instead of the feet for hanging installation of the cartridge housing.

Connections

For lateral intake and the pipe elbow as the outlet, flanges are available in all nominal diameters according to the size of filter housing and the space available at the place of installation. Additional flanges for venting the cartridge housing at the cover or as an outlet for draining or sampling are possible in the planning phase (before pickling, painting or rubber coating).

Adapters for filter cartridges

Cartridge housings type “D”

(adapters DOE, P0). The inserted guide bars inside the cartridge housings are used for positioning the filter cartridge on the seating caps.

The supplied filters with sealing caps are used to press the filter cartridges onto the upper and lower sealing edge, sealing off the ends of the filter cartridges.

This technology makes installation and removal of the filter cartridges quick, easy and safe.

The cartridge housings type “D” are also suitable for use of filter cartridges with the P8 adapter.

The dimensions of the housing cover are adapted so that the filter cartridges cannot be pushed out of the seating caps despite pressure surges, ensuring perfect sealing of the adapters on the filter cartridges.

Cartridge housings type “D-G”

Installation of the filter cartridges with adapter P0 (DOE) into the cartridge housing type “D-G” basically corresponds to the installation of cartridge housing type “D”. The threaded filter cartridge holders, over which the filter cartridges are pushed and sealed, are a special feature. The upper end of the filter cartridges is closed with a polypropylene tommy nut. Pressing the ends into the cut edges finger-tight seals the filter cartridge. The simple and convenient removal takes place in reverse order.

Documents

Each cartridge housing of type “D” and “D-G” is supplied with a declaration of conformity for pressure vessels (as per regulations) and each cartridge housing is marked individually for clear identification. Each cartridge housing is provided with operating instructions which contains installation information, a spare parts list and information on maintenance and care.

For housings which are subject to approval, the German approval body “Technischer Überwachungsverein” (TÜV) carries out a pressure test and supplies the corresponding documentation. According to the operating conditions, Putsch® places the CE marking on the vessel label.

Differential pressure gage

The filter housings type “D” and “D-G” can be supplied with a differential pressure gage (complete with piping and therefore ready for operation). The operator can use the electrical contacts of the differential pressure gage to obtain measuring signals for remote monitoring.
