All twin screw presses wear over time with normal operation. After several production campaings in a sugar factory, the presses should be brought back to optimal operating condition.
The Flight Builder is a mobile service unit used on-site for the automatic maintenance of the spindles.
It pretreats the spindles, builds up a new layer of special steel and sands down the edges just like new. After the presses are reassembled the operating performance of the spindles is once again just like that of a new twin screw press and will remain so for a lengthy time period.
