Bag housings type “MB”

The Putsch® bag housings type “MB” are used when bag housings with a single filter bag are not sufficient with regard to useful life or flow rate. These bag housings are available with 4 to 8 filter bags in different sizes and are adapted to customer requests by the design engineers to ensure that customers receive the best solution out of many options.

Description

General information

The bag housings type “MB” consist of a cylinder which, in combination with the housing cover, forms the locking system, as well as the support baskets, a base frame and the connections. These filter housings are designed for the filter bags of standard size 2 and usually offer space for 4 to 8 bags, but special sizes are available on customer request.

The starting material is stainless steel and therefore suitable for most liquids.

A support basket holder is welded into these cylindrical pressure vessels.
The filter bag is pressed down and sealed by a sealing ring.

The filter basket consists of a drawn perforated plate, providing the filter bag with the required support and preventing it from bursting. The deburred perforated plate and the flush lengthwise seam mean that the filter bags do not snag on the support basket or tear.

Housing closure

The solid housing cover has a flange ring and is closed with convenient folding eye bolts. The folding eye bolts with ring nuts are made of galvanized steel and therefore protected against corrosion and compatible with most liquids. After releasing, the fittings are folded down but remain permanently attached to the housing so they cannot be lost.

In other cases, the Putsch® design engineers can apply the classic method with folding eye bolts or clamp screws.

Der massive Gehäusedeckel wird entweder über einen Schwenkarm (Standard) zur Seite bewegt oder über ein Balancier Scharnier (Option) fast senkrecht aufgestellt.

The clever quick release with spindle makes work particularly easy – it lifts or closes the housing cover quickly in a few simple steps. Incorrect operation is precluded by a special safety mechanism which prevents inadvertent opening of the bag housing under internal pressure during filter operation. The quick release can only be operated deliberately; at the same time a shut-off valve is opened for venting – Putsch® puts safety first!

Feet/installation/mounting

Solid feet are welded into the dished end for secure installation. Putsch® defines the positioning of the feet when designing the individual structure, taking into account the piping and the structural stability in coordination with the customer. On request, support brackets can be attached instead of the feet.

Putsch® makes installation on site as easy as possible for customers already during the planning phase.

Connections

Flanges with all standard nominal diameters can be welded on as intakes and outlets. The corresponding flange size depends on the operating conditions and the available installation space. During the design phase, installation of additional flanges for venting the cartridge housing or as an outlet for draining or sampling can also be taken into account.

Filter bags

All filter bags size 2 fit into these bag housings with regard to the diameter and the sealing edge of the filter bag.

Size 2
Length: 810 mm
Diameter (collar): 180 mm
Filter bag area: 5000 cm2

Documents

The bag housings are pressure vessels in the sense of the relevant regulations and corresponding documentation is available. A TÜV acceptance is required under certain conditions. A TÜV test can also be carried out on customer request, if the Pressure Equipment Directive does not require this.

Accessories

Accessories

Putsch® offers the appropriate accessories for comfortable operation of these bag housings.

Cover options

A drain cock or a pressure gage (pre-pressure measurement) can be connected at the cover.

Stainless steel filter mesh.

Instead of the single-use filter bags, the support basket can also be lined with a suitable stainless steel mesh to replace the filter bag. For cleaning, this support basket is simply removed from the housing and cleaned according to type and volume of the contamination, e.g. by rinsing, ultrasonic bath or degreasing bath.

Displacement body

A displacement body can be placed into the filter bag (only possible with sewn-in ring), so a significantly smaller volume of liquid is present or gets lost in the blocked filter bag. The displacement body only needs a quick clean when the bag is changed and is then placed back in the new filter bag.

Backflushing support

In case of pulsating pressure fluctuations or quickly closing valves during the process, the filter bag can be compressed by a recoil so that the pressure increases more quickly despite the filter bag not being blocked. The backflushing support can help with this, maintaining the shape of the filter bag (only with sewn-in ring!). This can also be used as a support, e.g. for backflushing in cloth filter bags.

Magnet

In the metal processing industry, sharp-edged metal parts can enter into the liquid to be filtered and therefore into the filter bag. This presents the risk of the these metal chips, wires or pins damaging the filter bag. The solution for this is to attach permanent magnets which attract magnetizable metals before they enter the filter bag.
