Bag housings type “BG” size 1 and size 2

Putsch® bag housings type “BG”, size 1 and size 2, are extremely robust and particularly high quality stainless steel housings for standard size 1 and size 2 bag filters. These premium housings differ from other common models in many details. The Putsch® design engineers placed a special focus on durability through precise and robust workmanship. In addition, the rolled stainless steel provides smooth surfaces which are easy to clean.

Description

General information/manufacturer Putsch®

The bag housings type “BG”, size 1 and size 2, consist of a cylinder with cover and support basket and can hold one filter bag. These bag housings are available in two lengths for the corresponding filter bags size 1 or size 2.

Rolled stainless steel is used here, as it is particularly smooth compared to the much more brittle cast stainless steel and has no inclusions or cavities.

The particularly thick stainless steel plates are shaped into cylinders and welded by hand. Neither cast nor deep-drawn components are used! Al materials are therefore very smooth, not porous and not thin-walled.

The connections for intake and outlet are adapted to the cylinder curvature. The cylindrical pressure vessel contains a support basket holder with a special groove for a sealing ring. Details such as these are a matter of course for Putsch® , but for cost reasons they are not a general market standard.

Another main focus at Putsch® is the sealing technology and the seating of the filter bag – a simple, but very effective sealing and pressure system is located underneath the solid cover. The individual springs press a ring onto the sealing edge of the filter bag so that no dirt can bypass the filter and contaminate the filtrate. This sealing and pressure system is still unique on the market.

The spring action provides constant sealing action. Filter bags with different thicknesses and sealing systems are pressed down precisely by the springs. Operating companies with high requirements should not be without this sealing and pressure system. The best filter bags are useless if corners are cut in other areas, e.g. if the housings do not seal tightly.

The filter basket consists of a wire mesh and is therefore particularly ductile, i.e. the mesh expands easily under operating pressure and becomes dimensionally stable through the tension. The filter bag receives the required support and cannot burst. The mesh has no sharp edges and the lengthwise seam is level, so the filter bags cannot catch on the support basket or tear. The stainless steel mesh is permanently welded to a flange ring. This plane ring seals perfectly with an O-ring.

As an alternative, a support basket made of perforated sheet metal with a rolled edge can also be used in the bag housing (option), but the ductile stainless steel mesh is more durable as it can absorb the pressure more easily and “move” with it.

The special welded structure in combination with the thick-walled stainless steel, the smooth surfaces and the clever details, such as the adapted transitions at intake and outlet, is designed for decades of operation – even under tough operating conditions. That is why the bag housings type “BG”, size 1 and size 2, have been part of the Putsch® filter range for over 40 years – quality pays off!

Housing closure

The solid cover is flanged and is closed with convenient eye bolts. The stay bolts are galvanized steel and protected against corrosion.

Feet/installation/mounting

The bag housings are positioned securely without tipping over, on three permanently welded feet, each with a plate with an M8 hole for floor fixing at the base. On request, Putsch can adapt the base frame to customer requests during the manufacturing phase.

Connections

In the standard version, the housings are manufactured with a 2″ internal thread for the intake and outlet. Of course these bag housings can also be manufactured with pipe diameters up to DN 80 and special requests such as flanges, dairy pipe fitting or other fittings are possible.

The outlet is welded to the lowest point in the dished end so no socket is required for draining.

The socket on the cover is used for venting. A pressure gage for measuring the pre-pressure can also be screwed in here.

Filter bags

Filter bags size 1 and size 2 from all known manufacturers fit into these bag housings with regard to the diameter and the sealing edge of the filter bag.

Size 1:
Length: approx. 435 mm
Diameter (collar): 180 mm
Bag surface: 2500 cm2

Size 2:
Length: approx. 810 mm
Diameter (collar): 180 mm
Bag surface: 5000 cm2

Documents

The bag housings are pressure vessels in the sense of the relevant regulations and corresponding documentation is available. In case of relevant legal requirements, a CE marking has to be applied by Putsch®. For this, Putsch® has to be informed about the planned applications by the operating company during the inquiry and consultation phase, so the corresponding requirements can be met and the necessary documents can be supplied.

On special request, a TÜV test with the associated acceptance and the corresponding material certifications can be carried out by Putsch®. In this case, the delivery time is not a few days from stock as usual, but a housing has to be specially manufactured according to the requirements in the documentation.

Design as per PED 2014/68/EU, art. 4 par. (3), good engineering practice for group 2 liquids. Depending on the intended use, a CE marking and a TÜV acceptance may be required. TÜV testing and material certificates are also available on request, subject to a surcharge.

The flow rate of the liquid depends on the filter bags used, the pipe diameters and the operating conditions.
